One of these great features is the static homepage option.

frugal Professional is an awesome, pure bread blogging theme, but when you want to add more featured sections or need a full blown CMS design, a single click of the mouse (to activate the static homepage) is all you need.  Once active you’ll have a new homepage with an amazingly flexible layout that allows anything from a super simple landing page to a highly detailed web page to feature your online content.

You can have as many as 9 separate featured sections and as few as 1.  Some span the entire width of your site while others are manually controlled with a simple setting in the theme options page.  You can add and remove these sections to create the specific layout to meet your website needs.

Using your static homepage to enhance your blogging.

One of the many options of this static homepage is the ability to feature your posts in many different fashions.  You can feature your latest post, retaining the formatting and images that show up in the regular ‘blog’ view as well as feature post titles and snippets in sections of 3 in the bottom and middle sections.  You can feature the latest posts, posts by category or even a specific page or post based on their ID.  Oh, and you can also place widgets in these areas if that is more what you’re looking for.

And did I mention the homepage sidebar?

Already equipped with two ’site wide’ sidebars, frugal Professional has a homepage sidebar that allows you to feature sidebar content just on the homepage.  This is great for CMS, but can be useful for any setup that requires more page specific featured areas.

Uber Cool Feature Boxes.

To continue with the wide array of featured areas, frugal Professional has two feature box options, one that is site wide and the other that is unique to the static homepage.  Each feature box allows you to easily add either an image, a linked image (an image that links to a web page anywhere on the Internet), a flash video (just paste the embed code in the box provided) or HTML/text (you can just type some words in the box or add HTML code to further refine the content’s look and feel).

Each feature box sits above a specific sidebar and can be activated or deactivated with the simple check of a box.

Make your theme as wide as you want it to be.

frugal Professional allows you to specify the exact width of the content column (where your page and post content goes) and all 3 of your sidebars.  This means you have total control over the size of your website and no longer have to wish that this sidebar or that content area were larger or smaller.  Just let frugal Professional know what you want and it will do the rest.

Layout Options.

You can have your sidebar on the right of the content, on the left, two sidebars on the right of the content or one on either side of the content.  Basically, you can do whatever you want.

Color customization without coding.

There are a few key color options that allow easy customization of the look and feel of frugal Professional.  With the use of built in color pickers (no coding required) you can easily adjust the color of the background, border, ‘current page’ navbar tab and both feature box borders.

Navigation Bar Customization.

Being one of the key components of any website, the navbar is an important element of your Wordpress Theme.  With frugal Professional you get some great options to control this common director of traffic.

• First, you can chose to either display your navbar above or below your header.
• Exclude pages from the navbar.
• Add an RSS link, RSS and Email links, twitter link or a slick little search box to the right side of navbar.
• Activate a category navbar to feature your blog categories under your header.
